During the 2013 program, the Energy Fellows had the unique opportunity to travel to California for meetings with some of the area’s key influencers. The Fellows spent time in San Francisco and Palo Alto hearing from industry thought leaders, technical experts and interacting with numerous players in the region’s advanced energy ecosystem.
While in California, we were fortunate to engage with venture capitalists, entrepreneurs, startups, established companies and industry experts to hear about their successes, failures, and future insights. In turn, the Fellows provided a glimpse of the exciting opportunities taking place in Colorado.
We enjoyed excellent presentations, tours and discussions from companies such as Tesla, Mission Motors, Bloom Energy, and Watersmart Software. We were able to have candid discussions with VC’s including BASF Ventures, Siemens Ventures, Nth Power, Aster, GE Ventures and Westly Group. And lastly, we engaged with top tier professionals from DLA Piper, Morrison & Foerster, Silicon Valley Bank and a former California PUC Chair. We would like to thank them all for sharing their time and insights.
Very special thanks to program sponsors Morrison & Foerster, DLA Piper, and Silicon Valley Bank for graciously hosting us in their California offices. We look forward to returning to the Bay Area next year to continue the discussions.
